  1. Open PowerPoint and select a "Blank" presentation.

    Open your PowerPoint presentation on your Computer
  2. Go to the Home tab and click "Layout."

  3. From the drop-down menu, select "blank" slide layout.

    Select a blank slide presentation from the drop-down menu.
  4. Go to the "Insert" tab and select "Shapes" options from the "Illustrations" section.

    Click and drag the shape at the center of your slide deck and select "Shape." Then select a particular shape for your sub-topics
  7. Click the "Insert" tab and select "Line" to connect ideas on your mind map.

    Go to the "Insert" tab and select "Line from the shape section.
  8. Start typing the labels once you connect your main idea to your sub-topics.

    Then connect all the ideas for your sub-topics to your main idea. Ten type in the ideas on the shapes.
  9. After putting all the labels, you've created a mind map in PowerPoint.

  1. Open PowerPoint on your computer.

    Select "More themes" from the Home tab of your Microsoft PowerPoint.
  3. Click the search bar and type the "Mind Map template" (no quotes). Then, press "Enter."

  4. Select a mind map template for your slide.

    Select a particular Mind Map templates you want to use on your Microsoft PowerPoint.
  5. After selecting a mind map template, click "Create" on the dialog box.

Use SmartArt Style to Create a Mindmap in PowerPoint

Another way to create a mind map in PowerPoint slides is using SmartArt Style. Follow these steps:

  1. Open a new presentation in PowerPoint.

    Open a new presentation on your PowerPoint.
  2. Go to the "Insert" tab and select "SmartArt."

    Go to the "Insert" tab and select "SmartArt" graphics.
  3. When a dialog box for "Insert SmartArt Graphics" appears, select "Process."

    From the dialog box of "SmartArt" graphics, select "Process."
  4. Select a specific mind map template and click "OK."

    Select a specific mind map PowerPoint templates from it and click "Ok."
  5. Once your SmartArt graphic appears on your presentation slide, you create a mind map on Microsoft PowerPoint.

    Once your SmartArt Graphics appears on your slide deck, you now have a mind map presentation on your slide.

How to Remove Extra Elements on Your Mind Map

If you added more elements to your PowerPoint presentation and want to remove them, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Select the unnecessary elements on your PowerPoint presentation.
